Some good points made here by the author, and a great piece.
I think we all know the glaring omission from Steven Gerrard’s CV but he’s still very well-deserving of all his plaudits. I think if he had altered his game to match his aging then he’d still be playing in Europe. Or if he, as the author stated, had his game fine-tuned rather than being the match-winning maverick his managers needed things would’ve been different. Will be interesting to see how his time in the MLS turns out.
