Premier League business based on stars not surprises – ESPN FC

I think the Premier League brand is based on entertainment, pure and simple.

That means the stars will continue to come and the surprises will continue. I don’t think what Leicester is doing will become commonplace, even with the new TV deal, but it will happen enough that interest in the league at the very least stays the same. Ultimately, the big boys will be back on top next season and moving forward. They won’t run away with things like before but they’re already ahead of the pack and it’s not like they’re getting any less money or losing stature.
