It is a balancing act, as you don’t want to thrust a young talent into the spotlight too soon. As the author said though it’s very simple. The only way young payers get better is with playing time. That’s why you see so many good young talents coming out of Spain, France, Germany and, sometimes, Italy and not so much in England. Too many stars. You know one thing most, and I’m pretty sure, all those leagues have in common? A quota on foreign players. It’s not a fun idea for the Premier League brand but it might be something that has to be seriously considered as the current approaches aren’t working.
