Well. They just smashed those rivals quite handily so that further validates the author’s assertion that they’d take the Italy game a bit more seriously than the England one. The first game that came to mind when thinking of their competitive rivalry was the 2006 World Cup game. Euro 2012 and the 1970 World Cup game are up there too for sure. Germany’s overall statistics against the other countries mentioned is pretty interesting.
