How West Ham struck the deal of the century with Olympic Stadium move | Football | The Guardian
Still surprising that West Ham got the chance to move to the Olympic Stadium but they won’t be complaining. That deal looks to be a very good one for them and it could lead to some very good things if they can continue their upward trajectory on the field.

The US women’s soccer pay dispute: a tangled web with no easy answers | Football | The Guardian
Ah, someone else asks the question about giving up salaries. Definitely lots to consider in this situation for all involved. There’s still a few months before the Olympics but I’m not sure it will get fully resolved by then. Who knows though.

Champions League Needs Drastic Overhaul, but It Must Not Just Benefit Superclubs | Bleacher Report
If the drastic overhaul pertains to how revenue is distributed then fine. I’m not sure how the competition itself could be overhauled to improve the chances for the little guy. The idea of the superleague definitely isn’t worth it, and hopefully that gets shut down soon.

Women’s soccer: why building a fanbase is a complicated puzzle for clubs | Football | The Guardian
This current Women’s league seems to have the best chance of continuing professional women’s soccer in the US out of all the previous versions. Building a fanbase is a big part of that as the league continues to expand etc. Interesting to see how tings with US Soccer may or may not affect all that.

Great read here. So many factors go into transfers, especially when there’s a certain type of player a few clubs are looking for. Interesting reading more about Southampton’s approach.

Ah, FIFA still putting themselves in the headlines. I think TPO should just be highly regulated in some form given the widespread use. It’ll be interesting to see how things are dealt with moving forward.

Great read here, and some great points throughout. Those proposed UEFA Champions League changes are dumb to say the least.

Every Other Colour Is The New Black: The Evolution of Football Boots | VICE Sports
Flashiest boots I ever had were basically Jamaica-colored Adidas, or as close to Jamaica colors I could get. It was mostly yellow. Otherwise the majority of my boots have been mostly black and definitely not of the neon variety. Interesting look at the evolution of boots though. I mostly stuck with what I already knew worked, or the upgraded version of those. At least 95% of my boots were Adidas.
Kick It Out needs helping out if football is truly serious about fighting racism | Daniel Taylor | Football | The Guardian
Very good piece here. Organizations like Kick It Out should be receiving a lot more help from the Premier League given all the funds rolling in. Hopefully that changes.
