Interesting. Looks like Flores has his career after being a manager already in place.

Vox in the Box: Martin Tyler – The Set Pieces

Martin Tyler is one of the most well-known voices in football and it’s always interesting to hear from those we read, or listen to in this case, on a regular basis.

In other news, we’ll have a lot more posts like the Edinson Cavani one moving forward and thanks to Sporticos.com we’ll have some nice stats and info-graphics to show with those pieces.

Your TV football dilemma: spend more and get the same | Barney Ronay | Football | The Guardian

While this goes mainly to the British audience, I’m sure some in the US are annoyed with having to pay extra for sports packages that still may not get you everything you want.

Lots of talk about food but I think the point got across. I think one thing that stops the Premier League getting even more interest is the time difference. I have no problem getting up at 6.45 am Central  time to watch certain matches, the big ones and anything Arsenal of course, but does the football alone convince those just starting up an interest to do the same? Maybe

The Premier League is definitely ahead of all the other leagues and they have the time difference issues too so it’s not that much of a concern. Having it on a channel like NBC and, as of this season USA network, also helps.

La Liga, the Bundelsiga etc need to figure out something but the Bundelsiga is at least on FoxSports 1. I’m saying this all as a Comcast viewer where all those channels are in the basic package and I know it differs.

Wow. I really don’t know what to say with this. I love me some Football manager but damn Sky Sports. So lazy. It probably would’ve been better if you hadn’t tried to explain what you’re doing analyzing real life with a video game. Even one as in depth as FM.

The Premier League man. Crazy money rolling in. Glad that the coverage has increased to such an extent in the US. I wish the Serie A etc got the same type of coverage too without us having to get sports packages to add BeIn Sports etc. Guess it’s worth it though if at least one league is more accessible.

Also. I don’t see what’s wrong with the Premier League ad. Obviously negative things occurred on and off the pitch during the history of the league, just as it has with any other, but the ad has nothing to do with “airbrushing reality.” It’s just an add about a football league selling itself as the best league in the world. Why bother to even write the few words that were written?

Eh. I’m quite fine with how La Liga sets up. Things may change depending on how any new TV deal works out buts its OK for now.  It’s a good piece though.
