Brazil and Barcelona fight over Neymar as Dunga stresses – ESPN FC

Of course, Brazil, or Dunga rather, wants Neymar to play both competitions. Given how underwhelming Brazil has been in Dunga’s time in charge I don’t see a burnt-out Neymar making that much of a difference in the Olympics after playing in the Copa. Seems like Barcelona will definitely have to get that new forward next season given the workload Neymar might end up having. Then again, Brazil could fail to make it out of group in both tournaments and the damage not end up being so bad.

Dunga trying to ring up the changes. Some of them don’t make sense, like Coutinho, but it’s like he’s just trying anything to delay off a possible sacking.

I like the whole ‘Germanification’ part. Brazil still hasn’t bounced back/learnt from that defeat. So poor in the Copa.

The beauty definitely has left the Brazilian game.

There are a lot of talented attackers besides Neymar in the Brazil squad but, of course, they are not at the level of previous Brazil sides. Brazil no longer have that famous aura that’s for sure.

Brazil Copa America loss to Paraguay leaves them in shambles – ESPN FC

Brazil Copa America loss to Paraguay leaves them in shambles – ESPN FC.

If the Copa America is a warmup for World Cup qualifying then Brazil should be worried about Dunga in charge. Sure he fixed the defense but he doesn’t seem to be able to figure how to get what is a vast amount of talented wingers/attacking midfielders to dominate a game. One would think Neymar playing up top would be the simplest solution.

Brazil need to get it together quickly or they’ll be struggling in the qualifiers. I’d think about sacking Dunga, who probably shouldn’t have come back in the first place, and getting a coach capable of getting the best out of all parts of his squad.

Brazil’s penalty loss to Paraguay in Copa should serve as wake-up call

Why the Premier League is still waiting for a Brazilian icon | These Football Times

Why the Premier League is still waiting for a Brazilian icon | These Football Times.

I think we’re already seeing a change in that with the likes of Oscar, Willian and Philippe Coutinho in the Premier League. These three are already good players and could go on to become superstars in the league. And who knows, maybe Neymar will be enticed to join the league at some point. Maybe.

The author’s definitely right that there hasn’t been a lot of Brazilian flair in the Premier League but it looks like that’s already changing.

Very interesting read. I definitely think playing futsal helps players at a younger age but, as Zico mentioned, you have to play the two together. Will be interesting to see how it develops across Europe.
