Real Madrid must improve or Rafa Benitez honeymoon will end – ESPN FC

Real Madrid must improve or Rafa Benitez honeymoon will end – ESPN FC.

Some great points here. Madrid has to improve but we’re still only one game into the season so you have to think that they will improve. After waffling a bit and considering the “Bale as No. 10” experiment I think Madrid needs to have him on the left to be at their best. We’ll see if that happens.

Mateo Kovacic Signing Indicative of Real Madrid’s Plan, but Will the Plan Work? | Bleacher Report

Mateo Kovacic Signing Indicative of Real Madrid’s Plan, but Will the Plan Work? | Bleacher Report.

Great stuff. Really well written and some great points throughout. Madrid has stockpiled a good number of talented young players but Florentino Perez could mess it all up. We’ll see.

And will that be enough? I guess you could say Barcelona is in basically the same position for at least half a season. They’ll actually be worse off if they lose Pedro. I think Benitez will make a difference but I don’t know how much of a difference he will make.

I’m sure he’ll figure out something if Karim Benzema leaves. Very interested to see a full strength Real Madrid under Benitez.

How Real Madrid Barcelona Sevilla handle transfers – ESPN FC

How Real Madrid Barcelona Sevilla handle transfers – ESPN FC.

No approach is right and there are a lot of what if’s and interesting questions brought up by the author.

Why does Manchester United bother to go for Sergio Romero at this point if they know they plan to keep David de Gea? Just in case? Doesn’t make sense.

I actually have no problems with Barcelona’s approach. They wanted those players and knew they would likely go elsewhere if they weren’t bought now. The risk is there that they won’t play well, or take a while to play well, after joining only midway through the season but in the long run they are very good buys.

There’s not too much to say about Sevilla. Always some really good transfers.

Rafa Benitez’s Real Madrid dilemma: how do you get the best out of Toni Kroos? | FourFourTwo

Rafa Benitez’s Real Madrid dilemma: how do you get the best out of Toni Kroos? | FourFourTwo.

Good piece here. Toni Kroos is going to be vital for Real Madrid to get back on track next season. I think Rafa Benitez is the right manager to put together a well-balanced Real Madrid team despite Florentino Perez’s intentions. Should be interesting.

Sergio Ramos David De Gea Manchester United Andy Mitten – ESPN FC

Sergio Ramos David De Gea Manchester United Andy Mitten – ESPN FC.

Any possibility of Manchester United getting as good as Real Madrid gets in this deal definitely hinges on Sergio Ramos. As the author said, it’s a matter of when, not if, David De Gea is leaving.

If he leaves for a fee, unlikely to be a big one, and Ramos doesn’t go the other way then Madrid wins. I don’t see Ramos in Manchester at this time, though he has a former teammate in Di Maria and fellow Spanish nationals, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Victor Valdes.

Below is another good piece on the matter.

Real Madrid saga Iker Casillas Keylor Navas David De Gea – ESPN FC

Real Madrid saga Iker Casillas Keylor Navas David De Gea – ESPN FC.

Really crappy how Real Madrid have treated some of their legends. Iker Casillas is no longer the keeper he was, any fan or neutral or otherwise can see that. He is still a great keeper though and I think a lot of what’s wrong with him now is all the politics and crap he’s been dealing with at Real Madrid for the past few years. I don’t see the point of David De Gea’s arrival for either the player himself or Madrid but who knows what will happen.

We’ll all find out at some point.

Very intriguing choice of new manager, still would’ve expected Carlo Ancelotti to stay but I guess that was really wishful thinking.

Florentino Perez fires Carlo Ancelotti Real Madrid – ESPN FC

Florentino Perez fires Carlo Ancelotti Real Madrid – ESPN FC.

I don’t think Perez wants to learn from any other team though, especially not Barcelona. Will be interesting to see what happens this summer.

Does Florentino Perez have too much power as Real Madrid president?

Didn’t know about those changes in the criteria for presidential election at Real Madrid. Seems like Florentino Perez may be in charge for a while. In answer to the article title’s question. Yes, Perez has too much power. Never mind though, I guess as a Barcelona fan I can’t be unhappy with the constant upheaval. As a football fan it’s annoying, especially when Carlo Ancelotti has done what he has.
