Absolutely brilliant read. Oh, what a team that would have been. As the author said, none of this is to trivialize the horrific actions and effects of wars in Yugoslavia but from a purely sporting perspective one can’t help but wonder what might have been.
Have to respect what Klose has done during his career, especially on the international stage. Still hard to believe he’s the record-holder for the most goals in the World Cup. Yes, that’s somewhat of a slight against him. I think he’s not considered in the upper echelon because a good majority of players in his position, many of whom are retired or retiring, were much more well-rounded players than he is/was. Another thing that goes against him is that his stint at the biggest club in his career wasn’t as prolific even if he did get silverware.
Nice read here on Marcel Desailly. Such a great defender in his day. Don’t see many of today’s stars getting past him if he played now.
Always liked watching Di Natale play. Great goalscorer. Great player period.
Little snafu there with the title but that’s of little importance. Really great article here on Herbert Chapman.
Really great read here on Andrei Kanchelskis.
Well. This is very interesting. Will this project end up being successful at all?
Learned a little bit more about Andrew Watson while doing my piece about John Barnes. Good read here.
Absolutely fantastic piece on US Soccer. Hit the nail on the head with every point about why US Soccer is where it is. Must read for US Soccer fans.
