Thomas Muller: Football’s man of the future and an old school winner for Bayern Munich | Squawka News | Player Analysis

Can’t stop singing Muller’s praises until he stops doing the business. I can’t say I’m surprised about the fact that Bayern rarely loses when he scores or has a major impact.

Another underrated superstar in this game. Thomas Muller is such an intelligent player. He admits his technique could be better but there’s no doubting what he brings to a  squad. Works hard, in the right place at the right time and a cool finisher more often than not. Great player.

It’s definitely a valid argument given Vidal’s ability to play further forward. Muller’s position may be the most threatened but I don’t see it being a season of frustration for him. I think Guardiola values Muller quite a lot and he’ll have a serious task juggling all these players. I think Muller and Costa may be the starting wingers in any one of those positions as there is no certainty regarding the fitness of Robben. Costa can provide what’s missing when Robben’s not there and Muller can play on the right. Who knows though.

I think the title is incorrect. The author is trying to assert that Muller is in a frustrating position under Guardiola, not that he’s a frustrating player. I don’t agree with that though, considering the player has been an integral part of Guardiola’s plans since the Spanish coach’s arrival. Sure, Robben and Ribery have been injured but Guardiola would be foolish not to find a place for Muller more often than not. He’s also still ahead of Douglas Costa

I would agree that Thomas Muller’s defining traits are his intelligence on and off the ball as well as his workrate and overall physical skills. I wouldn’t agree that his technique is as horrible as the author suggests. He’s by no means a fancy player in any attacking category but just because he plays simply doesn’t mean he’s bad technically. Just have a look here. Simple, yes, but still excellent.
